Guys wearing glasses

Glasses have been around for centuries now. Although they weren't accepted by society as soon as they were invented, they did gain entry into upper circles of society as fashion accessories. Glasses with the modern design were developed in the 17th century, but people preferred other designs for their glasses. Thus, eyeglasses and pince-nez's were fashion favourites and no one aspiring to being fashionable would leave home without them. Ladies and gentlemen would carry glasses around ribbons and on handles. However even though everyone would carry glasses they weren't used to read. If anyone did have the need to use glasses to aid in reading, they did so in private. With time glasses gained acceptance as an aid to vision and more and more people started using them, even in public to read. However, to begin with they were used in public by older women and gentlemen, mainly to appear more intimidating!
Today glasses are worn by all age groups and genders alike. Everyone understands the importance of glasses and the valuable tool they are in improving vision. But even with this knowledge, sometimes there is hesitancy in wearing glasses. This arises due to reactions from others around. Generally women wearing glasses have doubts about it, but sometimes it is also true for guys wearing glasses.
Guys wearing glasses sometimes also feel self conscious about it. This probably arises from being teased in childhood for wearing glasses. A lot of guys report being bullied and teased in school for wearing glasses. They feel that wearing glasses made them geeks, something no child aspires to be! Guys wearing glasses also feel that women may not think them man enough and not find them as attractive with glasses. This very likely affects the self esteem of guys wearing glasses.
However, across the board, all women agree that guys wearing glasses are definitely more attractive and cuter. Guys wearing glasses look smarter and it gives them a more intellectual and serious look. A lot of guys in fact wear glasses with no prescription because it adds to their look, especially in the professional arena. A lot of guys wearing glasses have several pairs to use in different settings like work, partying or even a casual weekend.
So whatever guys wearing glasses may feel about it, it's certain that the women around them think they look better than fine with them. In fact some even like men better with glasses than without.
Guys wearing glasses need not worry about looking odd or weird in them. They should step out and flaunt that cute, smart and sophisticated look!
